The 2026 Norwich Bar Billiards Singles Tournament

What you need to know:

• Format: It's a Straight knockout Cup competition, as per 2025, but this year we are introducing a Plate competition for those knocked out in the preliminaries. This is designed to give every entrant at least two matches in total.
• Entry: £5 per player with at least 50% of the entry fee going to charity (last year we raised over £150 for the BIG C)
• Prizes: As well as a Singles Trophy (the Carl Robinson Cup), the Cup competition continues to have a cash prize, with a trophy for the winner of the Plate competition .

• Preliminary Round: There will be a round of Preliminary one-on-one matches, best of 3 frames, with 32 players progressing to the first round proper of the Cup.
• The Cup: This will consist of the preliminary round winners, plus 'best losers'. These will be assessed based on the 'Loss Factor' from the 2025 competition which considered relative frame scores.
• The Plate: The remaining players progress to the Plate.
• Venues: These will be assigned to prevent anybody playing on the same table twice until the final, where possible.
• Frames: Please play all three frames as there is a chance you can still go through if you lose.
• Draws: If the result of a frame is a draw, it is considered null and void - please replay the frame.
Paying for the frames: Players are to pay for their frames at the venue.
• Timers:If any of the timers aren't working, please set a time limit for your frames (between 13 and 17 minutes).
• Result submission: Please submit your results by text message or on our Facebook page. Please submit the scores for each frame.
